Precision Panel ACT Pty Ltd has been in business since the early sixties and under the current management structure since July 1995. The business is situated across 2 blocks of land of approximately two thousand square metres at 31 Kembla Street, Fyshwick.
One block of land houses the Administrative building and the Paint shop while the other is dedicated to the Panel shop. With such an expansive site we can cater to all customer requirements covering paint and panel work on classic cars, four wheel drives, modern vehicles and heavy equipment including trucks and buses. We offer full insurance smash repair services as well as restorations, repaints from a single panel to an entire vehicle and chassis alignments.
We have fourteen full time staff with a combined experience in excess of ninety years in the trade. The staff pride themselves on offering exceptional quality workmanship and the motto in our workshop is do the job once and do it right. Our aim as a company is to become the regions first choice repairer for panel and paint work. Our staff are open and honest in all our dealings with our customers and if something comes up that needs to be communicated to a customer we make sure everyone understands the situation and why.

In the paint shop we have two spray booths and thirteen bays. We also have two ovens, one standard car oven and one for heavy vehicles that can accommodate trucks and buses. We use the PPG paint system and their Vibrance Collection. We provide customised paint including pearl and harlequin finishes. Due to the unique nature of the colours provided we paint a mould to show a customer the colour they have chosen prior to doing the job to ensure satisfaction with the finished product and to understand the qualities of the lustre in different light conditions.
In the Panel shop we have a Blackhawk pulling system for trucks and buses and two car aligners one of these is designed for four wheel drives. There are thirteen designated work bays in the Panel shop plus space for the Blackhawk main rack and three Atlas mini benches. We offer a comprehensive range of welding services including TIG, MIG and inverter welding using Atlas and FAN welding equipment. Other equipment in the Panel shop includes Miracle pulling systems and two Easybeats.
For chassis damaged vehicles we receive quarterly updates on the exact specifications for a wide range of vehicles allowing us to ensure any alignment work meets the manufacturers original specifications. Between the Paint and Panel Shop there can be up to thirty five to forty cars at any one time on the premises being repaired.
We repair all makes and models, perform rust repairs and restoration work as required. We can provide paint detailing services to the outside, inner doors, engine bay, suspension components and boot areas. We provide free quotes on all jobs and by appointment will quote at a customers premises for vehicles that are not driveable or cars that are part restored and the customer is looking for a professional organisation to finish the job. An added service is our courtesy car that can be made available to customers.
Some of the customers cars that have come through the shop include a Datsun 1200 utility, 1968 Ford Mustang and Mazda RX2. The team did an outstanding job on my own VXSS Commodore that was originally Sting Red. We kept the red base and covered it with an amber glow pearl that in varying light conditions brings out yellow and green hues. The car was shown at Summernats in 2006 with lots of positive feedback.
The business supports the local community through various charity days and we support the Childrens Hospital in Canberra. The staff all enjoy cars and some members belong to local clubs and are involved in some local racing activities.
