Alfesta, QLD

Royal Pines Resort, Ross Street, Benowa, Gold Coast

4:00 PM - 10:00 AM

Alfisti is the collective noun for people who share a passion for all things Alfa Romeo related. It transcends nationality, age, gender, language, politics and religion.

Each year, the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Australia organises Alfesta and issues an open invitation to Alfisti near and far to gather and celebrate all things Alfa Romeo. In 2014, it is Queensland's turn to host Alfesta over the Easter long-weekend of Thursday 17th April to Monday 21 April.

Whether you are a current Australian Club member or an overseas visitor from one of the many Alfa Romeo Owners Clubs worldwide, you will be warmly welcomed at this event.

End of Season Cruise to Beechworth, VIC

Cruise to Beechworth

8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

By the end of April in Melbourne, the air cools down and the cloud cover and drizzle reminds us that winter is just around the corner. At Let’s Go Cruisin’ we think that an early May weekend might just be the last opportunity to enjoy some Autumn cruisin’ before car enthusiasts turn their attention away from the open road and to what’s happening in their garages.

Local car enthusiasts ‘The Old Cranks’ have hosted their annual ‘Drive Back in Time’ event for many years and town is rolls out the red carpet for visitors over this weekend. The event kicks off with an entrant’s BBQ lunch on Saturday, followed by an activity in the afternoon, shed tours, walking tours around places of interest etc. There was even some street cruising in the evening. On Sunday there is a show & shine held in the closed off main street of the town. The day has a lot of ‘country fair’ about it with stationary engines, historic displays, etc. There’s no need to pre register, and of course, there’s the town and its history to explore as well as many attractions nearby if you decide to follow your own itinerary after arriving. There’s always the original ‘Beechworth Bakery’ to get lost in as well.

Cruise departs from the new northbound Service Centre on Eastlink just near the . Wellington Rd interchange at 8:30am on Saturday. Our aim is to arrive in Beechworth by 12:30-1:45pm.

Bay to Birdwood Run,SA

BAY TO NATIONAL MOTOR MUSEUM AT BIRDWOOD

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

On the last Sunday in September each year more than 1,500 historic vehicles line up at the start to play their part in perpetuating the legend of the Bay to Birdwood. The next Bay to Birdwood event will be staged on Sunday 28 September 2014. The 2014 Bay to Birdwood Run will be for vehicles manufactured before December 31st 1955.

Breakfast With The Cars has become a tradition and this is the spectators' opportunity to mix 'n mingle with entrants and their vehicles. Enjoy a range of breakfasts provided by local service organisations washed down with jazz and line the start ahead of the flag off at 9am. It takes approximately 1.5 hours for all entrant vehicles to depart on the route to Birdwood - give them a send off they won't forget!

Vehicles head down West Beach Road turning right into Tapleys Hill Road then left into Anzac Highway. Their journey through metropolitan Adelaide en route to the National Motor Museum in Birdwood enables the spectators who line the 72km route to see Australia's greatest motoring show on wheels pass right in front of them - 2 hours of motoring history!

There's something for everyone at the Finish. The gates open at the National Motor Museum at 10am with the first entrant vehicles usually arriving approximately 10:30am just as the main stage entertainment program gets under way. Admission to the Finish includes entry into the National Motor Museum so take a walk through motoring history and see the latest Exhibition. Wander amongst the Concours d'elegance vehicles during the judging, pack a picnic basket, dress in the era of the event and you could be selected by roving judges as finalist in the Fashions in The Field. There is also a wide choice of food stalls as well as activities just for the kids. Please see website for entry forms.
