The Wamboin Community Association is hosting the Wheels of Wamboin on Saturday the 18th of April 2015 at the Wamboin Community Hall on Bingley Way, Wamboin (a 20 min drive from Canberra).

Display entry is a gold coin donation and swap tables are $5 (remember to bring your cash as there is no EFTPOS). Last year we had over 75 vehicles on display along with a stationary engine display.

As usual there was an enormous variety of vehicles and the “People’s Choice” award (the one and only award presented) went to a very rare and superb 1955 Swallow Doretti for the second year running, but not the same one as last year. This Swallow was red and owned by the brother of last year’s winner, a silver one! The Swallow is only 1 of 276 cars ever made and now two of them have won our award.

If you are interested in displaying your automotive masterpiece please email peter.evans@wamboincommunity.asn.au to confirm attendance to ensure adequate catering on the day.

Vintage and Classic Pre 1960s Car Rally, NSW

Cooma Monaro area and foothills of the Snowy Mountains

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The new rally is now being planned and organised, because it is considered that many owners of pre-1960s cars don’t enter in the typical Classic Car events like the recent Surf to Summit Rally, because their older cars have difficulty keeping up with the more powerful models which became available in the 1960s up to the early 1980s. 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The Leukaemia Foundation is offering owners of these great vehicles (replicas accepted) the opportunity to enjoy a week long Aussie Muscle Car Run from Monday 9th November to Sunday 15th November 2015.

This run will take entrants on nearly 3,000 kilometres of bitumen roads around a broad sweep of South Australian and NSW country towns to enjoy the hospitality, the scenery, mixing with like minded enthusiasts and of course, the sheer pleasure of the drive.

It is not a competition event, it is a week long cruise event and opportunity to show off your car to a wide cross section of South Australians. For your entrance fee and sponsorship funding, the Aussie Muscle Car Run organisers will include food, accommodation and back up mechanical facilities so you simply enjoy the tour. Your entry fee and sponsorship will in turn assist the Leukaemia Foundation's Vision to Cure and Mission to Care.
