Ballarat Mining Exchange and Ballarat Airport

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Don't miss the excitement when Ballarat celebrates its motor racing heritage at the Ballarat Festival of Motoring.

Thousands of vehicle lovers with their cars and motorcycles are expected to flock to the city to be part of a spectacular 9 day historic sports car, racing car and motorcycle celebration of the city's golden age of motor sport at the Ballarat Festival of Motoring.

It has been 50 years since Ballarat saw its last bitumen circuit motor race, "The International Victorian Trophy Motor Race", at the Ballarat airfield that featured International Formula 1 cars and drivers from the United Kingdom including the Cooper and BRM factory teams.

Few people today realise that Ballarat Airport was a major circuit from 1947 until 1961 with a reputation for hosting some of the best car and motorcycle racing of the day.

Highlights of the Festival will include standing start 400 metre timed sprints and parades of historic racing and sports cars around the majority of the original 1940 - 60's airfield based circuit, with up to 100 cars taking part.

Mid West Show n Shine, WA

MAITLAND PARK, CATHEDRAL AVENUE, GERALDTON

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

After a huge Saturday night of burnout action at One Nite Stand, join us at Maitland Park, in the heart of Geraldton, the next day as we fill the rolling lawns and curved embankments with vehicles from the oldest treasures through to the newest arrivals on our roads, the tough street machines through to the custom builds and everything in between. There is sure to be something for everyone.

This family day will run on Sunday September 29th, drawing in over 250 vehicles from all corners of WA for the crowds of over 8000 to enjoy. Vehicles from the normally hidden away beauties to the all-out street machines will be on display for everyone’s enjoyment.
Vehicles are welcome to enter the large variety of categories which once again will be judged by high profile state judges being brought in for the event, ensuring a widespread presentation of prizes. All major prizes will comprise cash and a trophy. Alternatively a ‘Display Only’ category will also be available for those who do not wish to be judged.
Vehicles will also be given the opportunity to enter in a number of categories for the dyno shoot out. An additional entry fee will be required for this category and spots will be limited.

On Monday there will be a cruise and the Miss Show and Shine Girls will be back as one of this year’s major attractions. The girls will be promoting the show in the lead up and raising money for our chosen local charities. This year Midwest Show and Shine Inc will donate to local worthy charities.

3:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Hot Rods and rock music get back to their roots for the annual Chopped Rod & Custom a three-day festival where pre-1965 style custom cars and music fanatics from across Australia roll into Victoria.

Thousands of fans from around the country partake in a mix of traditional style hot rods & custom cars alongside bobber & chopper motorcycles with entrants running head-to-head throughout the show in two-lane old-style dirt drags entertaining the crowds.

Throughout the day and into the night the crowds constantly switch their attention between the field of dirt drags and cars across to the stage where 15 bands play Rockabilly, Garage & Rock through to Blues, Country & Surf in the setting of the 'Tiki Palace' bar that drops you back into 1960s island life with Cocktails, Tikis, & Period DJ's visually drowned by palms, bamboo and a giant Easter Island Head that lights up the sky at night by popping its top and flaming into the darkness.
