As part of the AHRC’s commitment to the NSW Hot Rodding Scene, we bring to you the 2008 Sydney Custom Auto Expo held in conjunction with Meguiars MotorEx.
The 2008 Sydney Custom Auto Expo is proud to announce that the Major Sponsor for 2008 is Liqui Moly. We welcome you to join us, Liqui Moly, MotorEx and Meguiars over the weekend of 5th and 6th July 2008 at the Sydney Showgrounds, Sydney Olympic Park to share in this years show.
The AHRC believe that the Sydney Custom Auto Expo is the largest and most prestigious Hot Rod, Custom and Street Machine show in Australia and we would like to keep it that way for many years to come.
The Sydney Custom Auto Expo is a show within a show at Meguiars MotorEx and features the NSW State Title Show, the 2008 Grand Final for the Meguiars Superstars Series, the House of Kolor Inauguration and many more!!!
The combination of shows will cover some 12,000 square metres of the Dome and pavilions at the Sydney Showgrounds. The Sydney Custom Auto Expo can be found on entrance to the show, in the Dome. The Sydney Custom Auto Expo has plenty of different cars – show cars & rods, street rods & cars – all amazing in their own ways!!! Display by individuals and clubs that are phenomenal and we know that with more competition this will only get better! Clubs are encouraged to involve their own members by showing more cars from within their club that are newly built or that are rarely seen.

Welcome to the American Independents Dar Car Display for all American made independent marques other than the big three, GM, Ford and Chrysler. Parking for club cars in the grounds from 9.30am. Please try and add some colour to the day and dress in the period of your car.

The Festival of Speed on Tweed in the northern NSW town of Murwillumbah is fast becoming the most popular event on the historic car racing calendar and 2008 will be its 7th anniversary.

Nestled in the Adelaide Hills, less than an hour east of Adelaide, Lobethal is set for a serious re-enactment of its glory days, sixty years after the last races of 1948 and a timely seventy years after Lobethal Carnivals Ltd first recruited the services of a fledgling Sporting Car Club of S.A. and the Motor Cycle Club of S.A. to stage car and motor cycle races in 1938.

This years classic will feature a special display to celebrate 60 years of the Morris Minor. This will be at the centre of the huge Classic Car Display Area, along with a display by the WA Riley Club, who were judged to have the Best Club Display in 2007.
Among the 400 plus other magnificent vehicles will be the latest replica from ace builder Stu Martin, who in the past has shown his Stanley Steamer but this time will have his latest project on show, a full size replica of Henry Fords first car, the Quadra Cycle. This magnificent vehicle has been built without plans and even includes a hand built 2 cylinder engine, this is not to be missed.
Although the “British Auto Classic 2008” is the place to be for anyone with interest in Classic Motor Vehicles, there is also plenty for the entire family, with a big market including a quality craft and produce, a smorgasbord of fine country foods, the all day variety show on the “Go for 2 & 5” outdoor stage and lots for kids to do in the “Iluka Kids Fun Area” while mums and dads can taste the best from the west in the “Alinta Wine & Gourmet Produce Expo” in the nearby Waroona Memorial Hall.
Gates open at 10am, there is no charge for entry to this huge event and with another record crowd expected you will need to be there early so as not to miss out on anything.
Waroona Town Oval, is set alongside the South Western Highway, in the centre of Waroona about 75 mins drive from Armadale, 30 mins. from Mandurah and 40 mins from Bunbury.

This year parking will be available at the Tewantin Sports Ground with a shuttle bus to all entrances. As the event is held within a National Park we ask you to leave the dogs at home and no smoking.

19th FX-FJ Holden National Titles, QLD

This event is held every 2 years and is hosted by a different FX-FJ Club each time, from all over Australia. In 2008 the event is being hosted by the FX-FJ Holden Club of Queensland at Beenleigh, Qld. The venue is the Beenleigh Showground and viewing is encouraged by the public on the Saturday and Sunday for a Gold Coin Donation entry fee. Approximately 200 FX and FJ sedans, utes, panel vans, race cars and modified cars will be on display over the weekend with stalls, food, entertainment and a market on the Sunday. Come and see the Brock 05 FX raced by Peter Brock at Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK in 2006. Come and re-live your memories of growing up with the FX and FJ Holden. This is Holden's 60th Birthday so come and help us celebrate. If you are interested in entering your FX or FJ Holden into the event itself - an Entry Form is available from the www.fxfjholdenclub.com website. You can enter the full 4 day program for $125.00 and be eligible for judging and prizes or simply a 1 day Show 'n Shine day on Sunday for $25.00.
