Victoria’s finest driving roads and most enticing scenic, cultural and epicurean attractions will star in Tour Australis, a luxury tour for classic cars in October. Tour Australis is the on-road highlight of Motorclassica, the Australian International Concours d’Elegance & Classic Motor Show.

It will begin a nine-day celebration of classic motoring with both static and on-road displays of some of the world’s finest and rarest classic cars.

In the last 30 years, China has achieved a great economic progress. Through the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing, China becomes more and more open and welcomes friends from all over the world. People get to know China better and better, as well as the experiencing of the oriental magic.

The Chinese automobile industry has also made a remarkable progress since 1980’s, who has just become the worldwide largest automobile market both in manufacture and sale in 2009, which declares that China has entered the era of automobile. With that influence, collecting of historic vehicles has been greatly popularized in China and attracted more and more oldtimer enthusiasts. In the meanwhile some historically and collectable high-valued oldtimers appeared to the publics in the kingdom of the middle, which encouraged the international classic-vehicle-industrial communication between China and the World.

Classic Vehicle Union of China (CVUC) was founded in 2005 and located in Beijing, who is a non-profit organization with over 400 members and 800 classic vehicles by now. Since 2009 CVUC has officially joined in the FIVA world family and attended the FIVA General Assembly in Turin.

From 24th October till 30th October 2010, a regularity rally called “China Open of International Classic Cars 2010” will be held for the fist time by CVUC, which is recognized as a FIVA B event. Just like the legendary Mille Miglia, this 7 days rally will run from Beijing to Shanghai for about 1600km with full traditional Chinese sightseeing along the whole route, such as the Great Wall, hometown of Confucius, Chinese Venice (city upon water),etc. Here is the schedule:

Day 1: Beijing - Tianjin (Along the great wall)
Day 2: Tianjin - Jinan (Sea view)
Day 3: Jinan - Xuzhou (Hometown of Humanities)
Day 4: Xuzhou - Hefei (Battlefield of Ancient)
Day 5: Hefei - Nanking (Parade along the Yangtze River)
Day 6: Nanking - Hangzhou (Lake and hill view)
Day 7: Hangzhou - Shanghai (Mysterious Water Towns)

All the vehicles from the world according to FIVA technical code from class B, C, D, E, F are welcome to enter. The professional service of logistics, high level accommodation, and trusted security guarantee are promised by the organizer.

From 7th – 11th April 2010 CVUC also attended the Techno Classica Essen 2010 in Germany. Hundreds of interests were received during the exhibition. Only 100 cars are permitted to enter this limited oldtimer event. Do you want to be the witness to the 1st official FIVA oldtimer event in the middle kingdom of the Orient?

Rod Stock and Custom Show, VIC

Prince of Wales Showgrounds,Holmes Road, Bendigo

10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The Rod Stock & Custom show this year will be huge with a bigger indoor Show Building and more action packed driving events in store. The Rod Stock and Custom Show is proving to be a unique opportunity to blend the excitement of the old school driving event rod run with the visual splendor of the indoor-outdoor car show into one major regional event.

We welcome all pre 1975 Car enthusiasts, from every day street driven Hot Rods, Customs and Classics to high profile Show vehicles.

In year two we will see the Meguiar’s Show n Shine move into the massive 5000 sq meter clear span Exhibition building at the Prince of Wales Showground, Bendigo.
The size of the building will allow Rod Stock & Custom to showcase some of the best vehicles from throughout Australia in a professional regional location. As with last year we will have both Show judged and Street judged sections within the trophy categories. The Exhibition building will also provide Trade exhibitors and Sponsors the flexibility of longer public trading hours.

Garage crawl display vehicles were a popular attraction last year, giving the public a unique opportunity to view hot rods and customs in various stages of the build process. The success of this was directly attributed to the support we received from the Jadis Rod and Custom Club Bendigo.

We will add to the diversity of the indoor portion of the show this year by including pre 1975 Drag cars, Bobbers, Choppers, Custom Push bikes and Teardrop caravans.

Rod Stock & Custom Show organizers will again be providing separate special bitumen driving event areas to cater for the excitement of the 100 m long Go To Whoa track, the old fashion Spear a spud and the Rod Stock pinstripe track, as well as an internal all day cruise track, so if you want to have some fun with the car, don’t miss this year’s event.

For this year Club sites will be available within the building, so get your best club cars, put together a display to promote your club and any events your club may host. Out side club marquee space will be provided on the oval for those clubs that prefer the fresh air and may be more driving event orientated. Plans are in place to provide a Saturday entrant courtesy bus to and from the Bendigo shopping precinct.

Saturday night this year will include a two-course chef prepared meal, before Rock n Roll band Ignition’s performance, during which some minor place trophies will be awarded and the charity raffle drawn. Sunday morning will see an Entrant pancake breakfast, a craft and farmers market on-site and the continuation of the driving events and indoor displays throughout the day.
