The 2008 Bob Jane T-Marts Wheels On Wide Bay Street Sprints and Motoring Festival will once again follow the successful format of the previous years with the organisers the Australian Motorsport Enthusiasts Club Inc, ensuring that race fans have plenty to see on and off the track.

A full field of 175 cars will be racing both days from 7.ooam. Event Secretary Mr Richard Ryland explains “The early start each day will ensure that competitors are able to gain the maximum amount of enjoyment from the challenging one kilometre track, whilst allowing time for the very popular Drift car demonstrations, as well as the exciting coloured tyre display. Off track activities include Trade Stands, children’s rides and plenty to eat and drink with two Licensed Bar Areas. A fun weekend for the whole family.”

Following the success of the inaugural Show and Shine and db racing, Mr Ron Whelan, Chief Judge of the car show anticipates in excess of 250 vehicles competing in a variety of classes, for trophies and bragging rights in 2008.

Then the Powerskid competition will light up the straight followed by Off Street drags, more cruising, the Hour of Power which funnily enough only goes for half an hour as the best of the best just can’t seem to cop a flogging for a good hour. Then we got more cruising, followed by the burnout comp and if we got time, might just have to see what’s on the main stage from then on…

The target audience is the public and government - local, state and federal. This publicity will highlight to government that the recreation and hobby vehicle movement is a significant force in the community. The event will enhance your chances of gaining new members to your club. Also, it is an opportunity to highlight some of the civic and social works undertaken by some clubs. Many clubs have a run or static event in their calendar to assist a charity and this is an ideal time to promote that event both for your club and the charity!

Jaguar, MG, Morris Minor, Holden FJ, Mercedes Benz, Austin Healey Sprite, Triumph, Monaro, Torana, Volkswagen and Mustangs are just a few of the vehicles that will drive down the main street before dispersing to various wineries for display from 12.30 until 3p.m.

Many cafes and participating Wineries will be offering specials on the day. This event brings together car clubs and wineries for a special experience in beautiful McLaren Vale. Here's your chance to take it out and play with it over some of Victoria's best driving roads! Spend four days on the inaugural Peter Brock Foundation 05 Drive touring from the mountains to the coast, then back over the mountains to a gala finish on the Murray river from the Monday 14th of April till the 17th of April 2008.

The Vehicles: Anything you like, although preference will be given to Classic and Muscle Cars. Entry opportunities are limited and will be capped at fifty vehicles. Entries close Friday February 29th 2008. It is understood all participants undertake to ensure their vehicles are in a safe and roadworthy condition.

When: Monday April 14th 2008 ( the day after the Peter Brock Big Day Out ) through to Thursday April 17th 2008. Entry cost: Total $1500.00 per vehicle, including two crew members, comprising a registration fee of $500.00 (non tax deductible) and a donation to the Peter Brock Foundation of $1,000 ( tax deductible ). Additional crew member's registration fee of $250.00 and a donation of $500.00. Maximum of four crew members per vehicle. The minimum age of crew members is 18 years.

Accommodation: Is to your own cost. A list of accommodation will be provided upon receipt and confirmation of your entry. Sponsorship: Sponsorship and signage on vehicles is permitted however please keep the top of the windscreen clear for the event windscreen header.

Some 320 pre 1976 vehicle entrants are expected to support the event ranging from the chrome and fins of the American makes to the Australian offerings of the period and the Custom & Rod machines. Vehicles last year were judged in the categories of Best Original, Best Custom or Rod and Best Spirit of the Day, which is awarded for the best combination of vehicle and occupants.

The April 13th "All Australian Car Day V" will be a Huge Event for Holden enthusiasts. Whilst it will attract up to 500 Australian Classics, there will be three main feature displays, each one celebrating a milestone for a different Holden.

A second celebration will feature 45 years for E.H Holden, which when released in 1963 was the fasted selling car ever. Last but by no means has least, 2008 marks the 60th anniversary of the first Holden the 48-215 FX.

These iconic vehicles will be supported by a mass of other Aussie classics from Ford, Chrysler, Leyland plus a host of other Holden marques and some less well known local products.

While the main thrust of the SWAP is to sell or trade car bits there is also some bric-a-brac for sale. The only thing stall holders can't sell is food & drink because the catering is reserved for the Ormiston School P & C tuckshop.

At the 2007 swap there were over 500 sites filling both school ovals selling everything from screws to whole cars; there were also plenty of sites selling bric-a-brac.

Situated in South Australia’s world renowned and stunning Barossa Valley, this biennial Australian event is the first in our thirty year Cadillac Club history to have entrants confirmed from every State and Territory in Australia including Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia & the Northern Territory. On top of this, we have numerous confirmed entrants from the United States, Canada and New Zealand, making this a truly International event. In fact, these Australian Nationals, taking place just after the searing heat of an Australian summer gives way to perfect Autumn weather, are shaping up to be biggest Cadillac gathering ever held outside of the USA.

Event activities include:- a Pebble Beach type car show at the Australian National Motor Museum; a fully catered ‘ladies only” shopping morning during which time the men tour a boutique ale brewery and sample a variety of beers; visit the Greenock Aviation museum and the eerie Whispering Wall Dam; climb to the top of The Big Rocking Horse, Australia’s Biggest Big Thing; see one man’s obsession in collecting Australia’s biggest Lego collection; picnic on the lush lawn’s of one of the country’s finest wineries; drive to the top of the Barossa Valley’s highest point for panoramic photos with our cars; dance with the two great bands booked for Saturday and Sunday's dinners, and lots, lots more, which includes of course, sampling some of the world’s very best wines.

As a part of their preparation for this event, the South Australian Nationals Committee has dedicated itself to ensuring International visitors have ample choice of Cadillacs to undertake the event in, with far more volunteers willing to chauffeur guests than there are visitors - so anyone attending the Nationals from overseas can be assured of outstanding hospitality, as well as any other help and assistance required.

National Renault Rendezvous, ACT

The Renault Owners Club of Canberra (ROCC) will be hosting a national gathering of Renaults to be held in Canberra during Easter 2008 from 21 to 23 March. This event, known as the National Renault Rendezvous, will celebrate 110 years of Renault. All Renaults, from the pre-WW1 models to the modern day are invited to attend, including the sporting models such as the Gordinis, Alpines and the latest Renault sports models.

The event is being sponsored by Shannons Insurance.

Bob Watson, a past Renault rally champion, has agreed to attend the event as a guest of honour. Bob has fond memories of Canberra having won the Don Capasco Rally here in 1974 in a Renault Alpine A110.

ASCAR officially have their first Pro Street event at Willowbank Raceway 15th March 2008. This event will be open to ASCAR members and non members alike.

This concept has been developed simply to produce more Pro Street style racing in the sunshine state and eventually expand into other venues around Oz under a similar format.

Willowbank have agreed to include a Pro Street Bracket within their event in the same way Pro Street was included into last years Tin Tops. The Macedon Ranges and District Motor Club will be staging its 21st Annual Picnic at Hanging Rock on Sunday 10th February 2008.

The event is open to all veteran, vintage, classic and ‘special interest’ cars, motorcycles and pedal power vehicles as well as to persons who wish to view the vehicles on display.

The 20th Annual Picnic in February 2007 attracted more than 2500 entrants as well as more than 10,000 people.

The Picnic includes a number of free displays and attractions suitable for all ages, including miniature steam train rides, Rocker Cover Races, games for children, an animal farm as well as a range of presentations from our sponsors. The major sponsor for the 2008 event is Lumley Special Vehicles.

The event takes place at the world famous Hanging Rock Reserve near Woodend, approximately 50 minutes north of Melbourne. Apart from the excellent display of vehicles, visitors are able to climb the ‘Rock’, as well as enjoy a family picnic and great day out.

This year one of the club member’s cars – a 1928 Graham-Paige – has been selected as the Event Presentation Vehicle and will be on display near the main stage.

Entry to the reserve for this event is $20 per car, $5 for motorcycles and $50 for busses – entry fees are payable at the gates. Entry for display cars is via the North or South gates, with spectator parking via the East gate. Traffic Wardens and road signs are in place to assist with directions. Gates open from 8am.

For 2008 we have been lucky to secure exclusive use of Como Gardens for the day. This is a privately owned property with extensive formal and bush gardens, a miniature railway that the kids can ride and an amazing collection of vintage, veteran performance vehicles. There is ample secure parking on the property and plenty of great spots for a classic picnic lunch.

You will need to bring all your own food, drinks, tables, chairs, cooking equipment etc as there is no catering on-site. It might be a good idea to pack some sun screen and fly repellant too.

We will be running 2 cruises to this location. One starting from the Hallam Hotel at 10:00am and the other starting from Lilydale Lake at 10:00am. This should stagger the arrival of the cars just nicely. See cruise route below. Saturday the Kustom Nationals move to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit where we take over the circuit facilities and set up all the lifestyle trade stands, the huge Kustom Kulture Exhibition, Model Car Show, Pinstriping Alley where some of Australia’s top pinstripers will be demonstrating their skills. Chopper and the John’s Rod & Custom krew will once again be giving a graphic exhibition on how to go about tackling a classic top chop, where you will be able to see first hand the basic steps taken to ensure a chop that you’ll be happy with.

The event, which raises awareness and funds for research into retinal eye diseases will take place on Sunday 2 December at the Morning Star Estate in Mt Eliza. The venue has formal and in-formal garden areas for the static display for the Show n Shine and Concours d’Elegance events. The Australian Youth Band, Southern Stars will perform live marching through the Estate’s grounds and on the main stage.

Entries are now open to all car enthusiasts with many clubs committing to space in support of the 50 years celebrations of the Lotus Super 7 and the Fiat 500, and the Tribute to the World of Supercars. Enter either the Show n Shine or Concours d’Elegance before 15 November for special early bird rates.

The Cavalcade to the Vines will depart Rickett’s Point, Beach Road, Beaumaris car park. Arrive from 7.30am, depart at 8:45am. Cars of the World Charity Event - Gates open at 8:30am, judging commences at 10:30am

We are an on-line group of car owners and enthusiasts who share a passion for Ford XD-XE Fairmont Ghia ESP’s. Currently we have over 350 members

Our goal is simply to discuss all things ESP. November this year signifies the “last of the V8’s” to roll off the production line at Broadmeadows.

As a National group, we have decided that 25th November 1982 shall be adopted as our day of celebration. Our proposed calendar of events will incorporate several group viewings and cruise runs to various points of interest. The run will occur on the weekend of 30th November to 2nd of December. This is to enable us to attend the V8 Supercar Grand Finale at Phillip Island.

Marques in the Park 2007

The Council of ACT Motor clubs will be holding the 5th Annual 'Marques in the Park' springtime motoring display on the 25 November 2007. This year’s theme is 100 years 1000 cars. John Knight Park is located on a gentle slope next to Lake Ginninderra, making for a great display area and offering plenty of shade trees and a relaxed atmosphere.
